AUDIO
I have a passion for audio and have been making podcasts professionally for the better part of a decade. I’m experienced in shepherding audio projects through every stage of the development process, from inception through to distribution. I’m an experienced researcher, script writer, interviewer and editor. I’ve worked on a wide range of projects, everything from a BBC Premier League podcast hosted by current first team players to a ten part guide to coping with a cancer diagnosis, made in collaboration with the NHS. I’m capable of turning scripts and edits around on a tight deadline for weekly shows as well as liaising with clients on feedback for more complex one off projects.
WHAT’S THE STORY SOUNDS
I’ve been a producer with What’s The Story Sounds for over three years now. In that time I’ve taken charge of all manner of different podcast projects, a selection of which you can see above.
The Missing, made with the missing person charities Missing People and Locate International, has been running for over four years and features interviews with the loved ones of the long-term missing in an effort to draw attention to their cases. Recently, it expanded successfully to North America and there are currently plans to produce an Australian series. I70,000 people vanish in the UK every year. The vast majority are found within 48 hours but some go on to become what’s described as the long term missing. This podcast is about them.
The Footballer’s Football Podcast was a weekly Premier League podcast made for the BBC and when it launched, was the only PL podcast hosted by active players. The hosts, Newcastle’s Calum Wilson and West Ham’s Michail Antonio, talked the listener through life as a professional footballer in the top flight, dishing on everything from dressing room antics to personal rivalries.
Now What? Your Cancer Support Podcast, is a ten part guide to living with a cancer diagnosis, made in collaboration with the NHS and the patients of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. Featuring interviews with over a dozen cancer patients at varying stages in their cancer journey, Now What? is hosted by broadcaster and cancer survivor Julia Bradbury and covers a diverse range of topics including the moment of diagnosis, coping with chemotherapy and palliative care.
In Crosshairs, the listener is immersed in some of the most significant and shocking assassination attempts - and successes - in human history. From meticulously planned hits, to killings gone wrong, and the moments in time which led to murder. Narrated by Jonathan Guy Lewis, Crosshairs is a globetrotting, epoch spanning series, placing you inside the minds of notorious killers like John Wilkes Booth, Dan White and Mark David Chapman.
The List of Absolutely Everything That Might Kill You is a light hearted look at the many ways that everyday objects and experiences could cause us to prematurely shuffle off our mortal coils. Hosted by This Is Going To Hurt author Adam Kay and TV and radio presenter Matt Edmondson, each episode pits two items against each other as our hosts each make the case for why theirs is deadlier. Listen to find out whether the lift or the vending machine is the most dangerous thing in your office and whether you’re more likely to be killed by a lightning strike or a lawnmower in the great outdoors.
In every murder investigation, there’s one key item that could bring a killer to justice. Finding it and knowing how to extract the evidence…well, that’s where forensics comes in. In Smoking Gun we tell the remarkable true stories of how everyday items like a toothbrush, a Lego brick and a Chinese takeaway have proven to be the key to cracking the case. Hosted by the UK’s most prominent forensic scientist Tracy Alexander, each episode brings us behind the scenes of some of the most notorious crimes in history, highlighting the integral role forensics has played in bringing killers to justice.

How to reopen a cinema during a pandemic
In a segment for the Business Post’s Coronavirus Ireland Podcast, I spoke to Charlene Lydon, Head of Programming at the Light House Cinema and asked her about the challenges of reopening the iconic Smithfield location during a pandemic.
The imprisonment of Ibrahim Halawa
In this episode of The University Times Podcast, which I produced and edited, I covered the story of Ibrahim Halawa, an Irish-Egyptian teenager who had spent over two years as a prisoner of conscience in Egypt and the efforts of those attempting to get him released. Ibrahim was eventually set free after four years and two months. This podcast examines the circumstances of his arrest, the conditions Ibrahim faced in prison and the fight to secure his release by his family, human rights organisations and politicians. Ibrahim’s sister Omaima Halawa was interviewed for this podcast, alongside Irish Times journalist Ruadhán Mac Cormaic, former Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan and Executive Director of Amnesty Ireland Colm O’Gorman.
